Thursday Workday

I was really excited to see how much the SNHU portfolio will help when it becomes IPDP time. Talk about working efficiently! J In the class portion, I really enjoyed the talk and walk. It is one of my favorite things to do with students and players whenever there is something that is going to be tough to talk about. There is something about physically moving that makes it easier to open up emotionally. I also really like looking at the SAMR charts. It was reassuring to see that as much as possible, the lower level transitions are well underway, helping ease comfort moving up. I was thinking, which was silly, how I was going to have to build from the ground up to get to some of the more exciting and interesting places. Looking at the charts it was like, duh, we’re already part way up with some of the nature transitions. Adding more M and R is only one or two more steps – not three or four.

I also enjoyed the freedom to work this afternoon. I feel pretty confident in my project. Not as much in the presentation, but my project I am confident that I can and will implement in the coming school year almost seamlessly. I even wrote up the directions for the students so that there can be nothing to stop me when school gets crazy. J It was also nice to spend some more time with my new RSS reader. I’m starting to really get the hang of it and now I just need to be careful not to add things to it just because I can.

I have a picture in mind for my presentation and I know the mental travels I have made this week. I am certain that my husband will be glad that someone else is listening to it, but still the presentation nerves for adults. Somehow it is always easier talking to the kids than talking to groups of adults.

  1. Looking at the e-portfolio and going on a walk were both very helpful to me too! Howard Gardner would probably appreciate the visuals and kinesthetics involved.
