Reflection 2

Section 1:  Today (rather yesterday as I am blogging during our lunchtime)
I really enjoyed Adam's google presentation.  During our work time, I went on twitter and found some great examples of teachers using presentation in their classroom.  One teacher had the kids reflect on the first week of school.  She had them write three reflective sentences (one thing they liked, one thing they want to work on, and one ah-ha moment).  Each student had a photo of themselves and the three bullet points.  I have used KeyNote to present information to the kids; however, I have never taught them how to use it.  This year, I plan to teach the kids how (or rather have them learn and doodle around on their own and teach each other!) to use google presentation. This is very, very exciting for me!!!!   And now ... as we just spent part of the morning getting more acquainted with this program, I am even more excited!!

Section 2:  Common sense
I think this will be a good tool.  Several of my students will have iPads this year, and I know I will need some good resources to find exciting sites.

Section 3:  Don't lecture me
In 3rd grade, we do lots of "turn and talk."  We give the kids materials and say ... "what can you do with this?'  "How can you show force?"  Kids engage with partners and the students at their tables a lot.

  1. I agree "Turn & Talk" is a key part of any classroom.
